  Sierra Vista Baptist Church (actually at the junction of Jasper St. (south from 19th) and Roberds (from Carnelian on the East or Baseline, Topaz north to Roberds, Left/West to the church) is a warm and accepting congregation, with a mix of ages from Infants and young families to Retirees. The Worship is upbeat, friendly with moments of natural humor, and the music is a blend of contemporary Worship songs, Jesus movement 70/80s and favorite hymns. Adult Bible studies start at 9:15 and 9:30, break for refreshments at 10:15, Worship at 10:30. Pastor Ed Perez goes through the Bible in an expository style, using illustrations people can connect to, maps and visuals to add context for Scriptures, notes projected on the front wall. (the tall windows above the greenery and candles at the front of the church offer a view of God's ever changing 'canvas' of blue sky and/or clouds with occasional surprise visits by swallows who build their mud nests in the rough cut wood beams of the outside roof above. . A worship team leads songs with easy to read words projected, with piano and electronic keyboard accompaniment. Seasonal programs offer pot luck dinners (the members are great cooks with wide variety in cuisine, you can quote me!) followed by sound track quality choral ensembles and presentations. Parking in the north lot is an easy stroll to and from the sanctuary. The lot is dotted with a number of ficus trees for anyone who prefers shade. Hope to see you Sunday!
